2009 "Seven Generations", White Blend

In this blend, the Roussanne and Marsanne bring weight to the front and mid-palate, while the Picpoul Blanc and Grenache Blanc add natural acidity to the finish. All five varietals contribute to the nose, especially the Viongier. The resulting wine offers aromatics of orange blossom, honeycomb, lemon zest and pineapple, coupled with hints of vanilla, nutmeg and hazelnut.The fruit is pressed 100% whole cluster straight to barrel for fermentation and aging. Elevage occurs on the lees in neutral and new French oak, with a small percentage in stainless steel barrels. All components are fermented and aged separately until being bottled unfined and unfiltered. 185 cases produced.
